This project was a donation to a Kindergarten classroom. Glued up and a quick two coats of varnish. Delivered on time. There was also an article published about this project on the front page of the Stillwater Gazette.
The kids are gone and now I have time. In 1975 we cut down a southern Minnesota River bottom black walnut tree and hauled it to a sawmill. I had it sawn to 5/4” thickness, parafined the ends, and stored it for natural drying. I’ve now taken the wood and planed it and have started building furniture with it.
