- The kids are gone and now I have time. In 1975 we cut down a southern Minnesota River bottom black walnut tree and hauled it to a sawmill. I had it sawn to 5/4” thickness, parafined the ends, and stored it for natural drying. I’ve now taken the wood and planed it and have started building furniture with it.
Very nice work. What are the chances that there are two Phil Wendt's who are woodworkers. I came across your blog while going through comment info on my own website (philwendt.com). I also like your logo.
