Commissioned Table

This is a commissioned piece of soft spalted maple.  I collaborated with the customer on style of legs.  I also discussed the joining intersection and agreed on this one.  The two pieces will be used as one with 3 different looks.

Slab Tables

By harvesting a fallen maple tree, I could have lumber cut into my ideal thickness. These slabs were part of forward thinking and, as planned, they became reality after some lengthy deliberation about leg construction. The black walnut dowels added for strength and eye appeal. After discussing the bark idea with a couple sources, I attached the bark with two part epoxy. This added another level of eye appeal.

These are all sold, but I am available for commissions. 

Ornaments

At the beginning of 2014, I walked past a display of Christmas ornaments in a big box store.  I thought why not try those.  The pieces are made of black walnut and soft maple, quite similar in style, and finished well.

Exotic Wood Turnings

These are two very unique turnings.

This one is Cherry accented with African Zebra Wood. The texture in the Zebra wood is very unique and beautiful.

This one is Maple and Black Walnut accented with Teak.

Maple with Black Walnut Accent

Recently I posted some large turned Maple bowls with accents of Black Walnut. These are lower profile bowls with a different type of accent. They have a "stripe" going through them.

Both bowls are figured Maple with Black Walnut accent.

Maple Turnings with fine accents

Two turnings with fine accents. The first is Maple with Red Oak and Black Walnut accents. The second is Figured Maple with a Cherry Rim. This piece is especially neat because the main part of the bowl is mirrored from one piece of wood.

Candleholders

I've been trying something new and turning candle holders. Many of these are capable of holding regular pillar candles, and some have a second ledge to hold a large candle or a hurricane.

These are two larger candle holders. Figured Black Walnut (with and without Red Oak accents).
